Dear friends,
here we are with the prize winners and the grand prize winners of our 8th contest. We already have mentioned that there were so many submissions of extraordinary books. So it seems inevitable that we had to announce more winners that the usual. Not that we had predicted it but for the first time in eight years there were two grand prize winners with equal votes in published books category.
We also thought that it would be a kind of a symbolic reward to announce for the first time the runners up at least for the categories that had the higher amount of submissions.
Many many thanks for the judges of this years’ contest who were P.H.C. Marchesi (Children’s books/graphic novels), Andriana Minou (Poetry, LGBTQIA+ Self-published books), Barbara Black (Short stories) Gregory Papadoyiannis (Novels, Sci-fi/Thriller) Katherine Wiseman (Historical novel-Memoir).
As for the prize winners the contest doesn’t stop here. It’s time for the Writer’s choice Award another opportunity for a grand prize winner to be elected by the prize winners.
For the eyelands team again the same promise to spread the news about the contest and get submissions from every place in the world. This is our dream!!
note: just to mention two more things, one that Ken Pisani, the grand prize winner of 2023 is again a prize winner and second that Sidney Garrett (distinction U20) is just 12 years old. These are very important and honorary ”details” for our contest.
